The Palace - Villa Escondida, once the home to nobility, is a superb hillside retreat ideally positioned between blue waters of the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts.

Built in 1881 and furnished with an array of antiques, neoclassical artworks and painted murals, this 4 bedroom villa with 16 x 8 metre infinity pool is the perfect place to relax with family and friends, retreat and replenish and explore this beautiful part of the world.

The ground floor entrance of the Villa opens onto the formal sitting room boasting a selection of wall high classical artworks and regal furnishings. The high ceilings and arched doorways of the villa add to the majestic feel that this villa emits. The large ornate wooden staircase, a main feature of the sitting room, spirals to the second floor of the villa where the sleeping quarters are located.

Directly behind the staircase you will find a small entrance to a stairwell that takes you up the historic main tower of the villa. Sharply spiraling up three levels you will arrive at the rooftop terrace where the most magnificent views of the Sorrento and Amalfi coastlines can be savoured simultaneously. Perfectly furnished with an array of outdoor sunbeds to bask in the summer sun, as you gaze out and lose yourself in the beauty of the Mediterranean coast.

Returning to the ground floor of the villa, you will also find a spacious second sitting room and formal dining area cozily furnished with comfortable sofa chairs and a dining table for up to 8 people. The separate eat-in kitchen is well equipped with all the necessary appliances and equipment to explore South Italian flavours should you decide to organize a home chef or prepare your own sumptuous meals with some local organic produce. A small stairway from the kitchen leads to a lower level washroom with washing machine and ironing facilities and a bathroom.

The main sleeping quarters of The Palace are located on the upper level where you will find 4 double bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom. All rooms are light-filled and elegantly furnished with quality fabrics and linens. Some rooms enjoy Juliette balcony, floor to ceiling windows or open onto the upper level balcony that overlooks the swimming pool. The original parquet floors and antique furnishings offer a comfortable and tranquil atmosphere.

The kitchen and sitting/dining rooms open on to what is considered the main highlight of the villa, a rear patio and outdoor space which is taken up by the oversized 16x8 metre infinity pool. The patio is furnished with cane lounge chairs, tables, chairs and parasols and is the most charming place to eat al fresco on or sip on an Aperol Spritz or a glass of prosecco. There is also a barbeque and gazebo perfect if you would like to organise a fresh seafood grill and dinner with our home chef!

The Palace – Villa Escondida is located within easy reach of Sorrento, a 7 km drive away with its arrow, cobbled streets, splendid piazzas and beautiful views over the water to Naples and Mt Vesuvius. It is also the perfect base for exploring the many attractions of the Sorrento Peninsula and beyond including Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.

The hilltop village of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi is only 4km away and offers an array of supermarkets, retail stores and several good restaurants, including the two-Michelin-starred Don Alfonso.

WEDDINGS & EVENTS
We welcome weddings and events in some of our properties upon written request. In addition to a service fee, we only allow our catering team and suppliers access to the property for insurance, health and safety purposes. Our Events Management team can provide you with more information on request.

SECURITY DEPOSIT 
A security/ damage deposit of €500 is required to cover accidental damage to the property during your stay. The security deposit is a refundable deposit processed with a credit card pre-authorisation which will be refunded/unblocked following your stay. This deposit relates to both the damage to property and/or furnishings and the state and condition in which the actual property is left at check-out.

• Check-in: 15:00–22:00 | Check-out: 10:00 (after-hour checkin charges apply)
• Housekeeping and linen change are provided once midweek for stays of 7 nights or more
• A local tourist tax applies to guests aged 18+ for up to 7 nights. This is not included in the rental fee and must be paid in cash to your host at check-in
